Allan Wilson MSP joins RNID Scotland Campaigns Co-ordinator, Doug Bradley, and dials 0845 600 5555 to take RNID’s telephone hearing check.
During Deaf Awareness Week (1st – 7th May), Allan Wilson MSP for Cunninghame North, took part in Britain’s Biggest Sound Check, joining more than 14,400 people in Scotland who have already called RNID’s telephone hearing check.
The specially developed five minute telephone hearing check, available by dialling 0845 600 5555, is part of the Breaking the Sound Barrier campaign by RNID, the national charity representing the 758,000 deaf and hard of hearing people in Scotland.
Expressing his support for the campaign, which aims to change attitudes towards hearing loss and hearing aids, Allan Wilson MSP says:
“ With more than 40 per cent of the over 50s experiencing some level of hearing loss, it has come as no surprise that RNID’s telephone hearing check is proving so popular. RNID Scotland wants to reach out to people who could benefit from wearing a hearing aid, but are doing nothing about it. They are urging people throughout the country to dial 0845 600 5555 and take RNID’s simple hearing check. It takes just five minutes, and could be your first step on the road towards reconnecting yourself with friends, family and colleagues.” |
